Q: I am related to someone who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibilty dates. Can I join the Sons of The American Legion?
A: If your relative who served on active duty during one of the membership eligibility dates and is a member of The American Legion, you may join the Sons of The American Legion.
However, if the qualifying veteran is deceased you may join the SAL, even if the qualifying veteran was not a member of The American Legion when living.
At the present time we are recruiting members for this organization. As we need to have at least fifteen members to form a Squadron, we are not collecting dues or having regular meetings at this time. As we approach the magic number, we will start collecting dues of $15 per year and holdmeetings
Most of our communication is by email. There are a few things to finalize in our Constitution and By-Laws and it will be up to the Charter Members to make those decisions. We will also want to decide what activities of our own to have.
In the meantime, applicants are welcome to attend Middleton Post 39's monthly meetings and other activities. See Current Events page for time and place.
