Dock-N-Talk Phone Installations
2-LINE PHONES - ACTIVE PHONE LINE: This installation will not work with single line phones. If you have an active phone line, locate the selector switch on the Dock-N-Talk next to the phone jacks. Set this selector switch to "LP2". This routes the signals from the Dock-N-Talk to your existing "Line 2" wiring in your home. You now connect a phone line (2 are included with the Dock-N-Talk) to either phone jack on the Dock-N-Talk and any existing phone jack in your home. The Dock-N-Talk is now connected as "Line 2" and will ring all your 2 line phones as "Line 2". Remember to always be sure to disconnect Line-2 at the telephone interface box on the side of your home so that the Dock-N-Talk will operate properly.
SINGLE LINE PHONES - NO ACTIVE PHONE LINE: If you are connecting the Dock-N-Talk to existing wiring and you are NOT using an outside phone company, leave the selector switch mentioned above to "LP1" as this will route the Dock-N-Talk signals to Line 1. You now connect a phone line (2 are included with the Dock-N-Talk) to either phone jack on the Dock-N-Talk and any existing phone jack in your home. The Dock-N-Talk is now connected as "Line 1" and will ring all your single line phones. You MUST also need to check your telephone interface box to ensure that your home wiring is NOT connected to the outside telephone company regardless if you have a dial tone or not before you install the Dock-N-Talk..
