PREAMBLE
TO THE CONSTITUTION OF THE AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY

For God and Country, we associate ourselves together for the following purposes:

To uphold and defend the constitution of the United States of America;
to maintain law and order;
to foster and perpetuate a one hundred per cent Americanism;
to preserve the memories and incidents of our associations during the Great Wars;
to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation;
to combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses;
to make right the master of might;
to promote peace and goodwill on earth;
to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom, and democracy;
to participate in and contribute to the accomplishment of the aims and purposes of The American Legion;
to consecrate and sanctify our association by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.


Auxiliary Unit 39 plans to meet at the same time as Post 39 on the last Monday of each month at the Sunrise Cafe' located on the corner of 200 E Main St & Dewey in downtown Middleton across from the Fire Department. Everyone is invited to a no-host dinner (order from the menu) at 6 PM with the meeting following at 7 PM. Meetings should last approximately 1 hour.

A woman who is eligible for membership in The American Legion is also eligible to join the American Legion Auxiliary. The mother, wife, daughter, sister, grand-daughter, great-grand-daughter, or grandmother of members of The American Legion, and deceased veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during the listed war eras. Step relatives are also eligible. Proof of active duty service of the related veteran is a requirement for membership in The American Legion Auxiliary.
